My sculpture is designed to engage the audience in a way that they become personally involved in the total viewing experience. Art, being a form of a universal language, communicates independently of words, touching the viewer on multiple levels. Personal interpretation of the art experience brings value and success to the work. My intention to “express the psychological core of our human drama” is complete when the viewer has a visceral response. Inspired by the elegance of the human form, I honor the emotional aspects that speak to all of us.
As stated in her recent review “such unadorned expressions of human empathy are unique […] restoring a sense of the monumental to the human figure, a mixture of pathos and dignity which honors our common condition. […] The ultimate rendering in bronze through the lost-wax casting method give the works a raw power that harks back to the tradition of Rodin.”
